A licensed non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue organization, the mission of One Love Animal Rescue, Inc. is to help abandoned, neglected, abused, and unwanted pets by partnering with shelters, rescue groups, and the community to facilitate the adoption of these animals into permanent and loving homes.

THE GOAL

Our goal is to save one life at a time by promoting local animal shelter adoptions and raising awareness in our community about responsible pet ownership. Savannah, GA : Artist Shelf Takeover featuring Joe Samaniego x Thomson Moore

Our goal is to build community by sharing our space through art & visual projects of our community members in our shops.

Join us for Starland First Friday on 11/1/24 from 4-8 PM to meet Joe Samaniego & Thomson Moore during our Artist Shelf Takeover Series.

“Framework” captures the idea of each piece being carefully framed, with attention to linear composition and detail. Although the artists explore different landscapes, their works share a cohesive feeling and visual language. Joe’s images of vintage cars do more than document the vehicles—they capture a moment in time, reflecting the life and memories associated with each car while highlighting their beauty. Thomson’s photographs rethink the concept of an island, capturing objects, structures, and vessels at sea, creating a balanced and unified composition.

Each photograph is uniquely framed in handmade wood frames, crafted with splined joints and finished with a homemade shellac, further emphasizing the individual attention to detail in both the frame and the image it holds.

Savannah : Artist Shelf Takeover with Gay Poet Beau

Our goal is to build community by sharing our space through art & visual projects of our community members in our shops.

Join us Friday September 27th from 4-8 PM and meet Gay Poet Beau during our Artist Shelf Takeover Series.

Each artwork is printed double-sided on 6x8 inch Italian- made paper with the drawing on one side and the paired poem on the back.

I’m a poet, artist, & architect in Savannah. I call myself gay poet beau since I spent the first 22 years of my life dimming my light—afraid of who I was & who I could become.

Now I unapologetically claim & celebrate this queerer part of me. Creating poetry & art helped me explore my feelings & eventually find the courage to embrace my truth.

My poetry & art explore themes of connection to nature, budding self acceptance, embracing authentic identity, & documenting queer struggles & joy.

Each artwork is inspired by a poem I wrote & watercolored to connect with the theme/heart of each writing.

The interwovenness of queerness & nature resonates deeply with my own journey toward self-discovery & eventual acceptance of my gay identity. Through creating poetry & art grounded in natural settings & metaphors, I gained the courage to embrace my truth. My series of watercolor prints & poems illustrates my journey as a closeted kid growing up in the south who blossoms into a proudly out gay man living life in its fullest spectrum.

Expanding on my inspiration from & connectedness to nature, I created a series of watercolor prints & poems that capture the ethereal beauty of southern flowers & the picturesque parks of Savannah.

Join us in the shop on Saturday, July 6th from 11 AM - 4 PM for a dual pop up with Quintessence by Sim and Renegade Paws Rescue!

Cool off in our tropical jungle, meet adoptable dogs, and shop handmade pet accessories + art!

Quintessence by Sim: Inspired by the daily activities, personalities and relationships with our furr babies, we wish to make you laugh and fill your hearts with joy.

Quintessence is committed to collaborating with animal rescues through adoption events, & fundraising efforts, and is a strong advocate for the pet adoption cause.

Renegade was founded in the summer of 2019 with a little bit of money and a big dream to help dogs that otherwise would not have a chance.

We started as a primarily foster-based organization and in 2023, we launched a capital campaign to purchase a building with kennels that had just become available. Thanks to our community's unbelievably generous support, were able to purchase the small shelter to support dogs and cats while they wait for foster and forever homes.

In a few short years, we've grown from a dozen fosters to over 300 foster families. We have expanded our organization to include a community program that provides free spay and neuter services and food to help keep pets in homes.

We are pinching ourselves every single day.

Co-founder and director Jennifer Taylor says it best. "We work all hours of the day, every day of the week because the innocent souls that come our way need us. And they are worth every bit of blood, sweat and tears."
